Privacy Policy

Placio (“we”, “us”) runs the Placio website, a job-discovery platform. This page describes what actually happens to information when you use it. It is written to match how the site works today; if that changes, this page will change.

What we do not ask for

You can browse, search, filter, save and share jobs without creating an account, and Placio does not ask you for your name, e-mail address, college, CV or any other personal details on the website. We do not sell personal data and we do not run advertising.

What is stored on your device

Placio stores a small amount of data in your browser (localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB — not cookies) so the site works. It stays on your device and is never sent to us:

  • Saved jobs, recently viewed jobs and recent searches — only when you use those features.
  • Theme (light / dark) and your privacy choice.
  • A cached copy of the job list, so Browse Jobs loads quickly and uses less data.

You can see the exact list and clear it any time from (also in the footer). Clearing your browser’s site data does the same.

Services we use

  • Firebase / Google Cloud (Hosting, Firestore database, Storage). It serves the website and stores job listings. When your browser loads the site or the job data, Google’s infrastructure receives standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type, as any web host does. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Firebase Authentication — used only by Placio administrators to sign in to the admin area. Visitors are never asked to sign in.
  • Fonts are hosted by Placio itself; no request is made to Google Fonts.
  • Analytics: Placio does not currently run analytics. If we ever add privacy-friendly analytics, it will only load after you choose to allow it, and this page will be updated.

Reporting a job

If you use “Report this job”, we store the job ID, the reason you chose and the time. No name or contact details are collected.

Contacting us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply and to improve Placio. To ask us to delete an email conversation, write to placio.jobs@gmail.com.

External job links

“Apply Now” takes you to the employer’s or a third party’s website. That site has its own privacy practices which we do not control. Placio never asks for your passwords for other websites.

Security and retention

The admin area is protected by sign-in and server-enforced access rules, and the site is served over HTTPS. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure. Job listings are kept while they are useful; removed listings stay available as “no longer available” pages. Anonymous job reports are kept until reviewed.

Your choices

You can use Placio without allowing anything optional. You can clear stored data at any time as described above, and you can contact us with any privacy question or request. If you are in a region with specific data-protection laws, you may have additional rights; contact us and we will respond as the law requires.
